These pictures were taken in Riga during the first week of September, 2007. This memorial is one of the most well-liked in the city. There are often flowers lying in front of it. During the week I was in Riga, it was being renovated, so the context shows an ugly fence being set up around the memorial.
His gravesite is also an impressive memorial.
