Freedom Clock in Tallinn

Pictures and text by Mark R. Hatlie

These pictures were taken on 27 June, 2006 near down town Tallinn. I have heard it is referred to as the Freedom Clock and somehow keeps track of the time since independence.

.
The date on the front of the silver tower is 24 February, 1918, the date that Estonia declared independence during World War One.
.
.
The 20th of August is the day when Estonia re-claimed its independence during the coups in the USSR.
