Pictures and text by Mark R. Hatlie
These pictures were taken in Riga during the first week of September, 2007, out on the edge of Riga. The memorial is hidden away in the trees on the left side of the road when leaving Riga after crossing over the lakes, shortly after the open air museum. It marks the jump-off point for this division during the attack on Riga in October of 1944.
