The Manila memorial cemetery is located at Fort Bonifacio, about six miles southeast of the center of the city, within the limits of the former U.S. Army reservation of Fort McKinley. In this cemetery, 17,206 American dead are buried. On April 1, 1948, the government guaranteed permission to the U.S. to establish a memorial. It was completed in 1960. These photos were taken in December, 2005.
