Cemetery Memorial for Grenadier Battalion in Karlsruhe

This picture was taken on 25 March, 2006 in the main city cemetery at Karlsruhe.

	The marker stands near the memorial to German refugees of 1945 and the victims of World War Two Allies bombings, both visible in the background of the photo.
	It reads, "For our dead / Baden Grenadier Battalion Meiningen / Ist Bat 14 Inf Regt.". Baden is the historical territory of which Karlsruhe is the traditional capital. Meiningen is a city in Thueringen, quite far away. Perhaps it was the last name of the commander.
