Pictures and text by Mark R. Hatlie
These pictures were taken in Forbach on 11 August, 2008.
This memorial is very prominent on a major crossing on the main road through town. It faces the train station such that it is the first impression one has of the town upon arrival. The memorial was being built when the Second World War broke out. It was designed and built by the sculptor Sutor from Karlsruhe and completed in 1941. There no names of the fallen listed and no information about the memorial at the site.
