The plaque on the pedestal reads, "Walter Reinhold / Rubble Women / 1952 errected in cast iron / 1967 re-made in bronze / The memorial is dedicated to the women of Dresden who, in a difficult period, laid the groundwork for the reconstruction of the destroyed city with the work of their hands. / Restored 2001", followed by a list of the sponsors of the restoration. ("Walter Reinhold / TRÜMMERFRAU / 1952 als Eisenguss errichtet / 1967 Neufassung in Bronze / Das Denkmal ist den Frauen Dresdens gewidmet, die in schwerer Zeit mit der Arbeit ihrer Hände den Grundstein zum Wiederaufbau der zerstörten Stadt legten. / Restaurierung 2001 / landeshauptstadt Dresden, Stadtsparkasse Dresden, Daimler Chrysler ML Dresden, Gudrun Benath und Freunde.
