Pictures by Christian Harde, text by Mark R. Hatlie

These pictures were taken in September, 2005, in Avignon, France. The memorial appears to have been built to memorialize the fallen of the First World War with the dates behind the shoulders of the woman. Later, the Second World War was added by chisling the dates 1939-1945 a bit lower. Even later, the dates for the Indochina and Algerian wars were added further out.
